When the server returns a resource to a browser, it inserts the MIME
content type of the resource in the HTTP headers (MIME is described
in Section ). For HTML documents this will be
expressed as:
Content-type: text/html
Resource types, such as images, plain text, and so on, are also indicated in
this way. The typing of resources is generally configurable.
