Server side includes (NCSA only)

Server side includes are an NCSA server extension, whereby directives embedded in HTML files indicate to the server that further information should be inserted at that point. They are described in Section gif.

Whether server side includes are enabled is controlled by the Includes option of the Options access configuration directive. Execution of CGI scripts from server side includes (specified with the exec server side include directive) can be disabled with the IncludesNoExec option. Access configuration directives are discussed in Section gif.

The document is mainly of historical interest as obviously many of the sites mentioned have long since disappeared.
