The basic keywords, shared with the Minnesota Gopher server,
are as follows:
- Name
- Title of the item as it appears in the Gopher menu.
- Type
- The Gopher type of the item (listed in
Table ).
- Path
- The pathname to the item relative to the root data
directory, with the first character of the type field prepended.
- Host
- The host-name of the server where the item is located.
- Port
- The port on which the server listens for requests.
Only the Name and Path keywords are compulsory. In many
cases a Type field need not be explicitly included, as the GN
server will infer the Gopher type from the prefix of the path field.
A list of valid Gopher types is shown in
the following table.
The Host and Port values default to those of the
server.
