XV

XV is an image manipulation package, written in C by John Bradley at the University of Pennsylvania, for UNIX systems. It is the default image viewer for X Mosaic, and has several useful features, including a screen grabber, and image format conversion capabilities. There is a patch available for reading Kodak Photo CDs, and the program is well-documented. XV is shareware, commercial and non-private users should pay a registration fee. The current version is 3.0, and is available from:
